Tips for Removing Candle Wax from Carpets

Step #1:  First and foremost, do not try to scrape the wax.  This can damage the fibers in the carpet.  Instead, find your iron, a white terry cloth, and your patience.

Step #2:  Dampen a white terry cloth without wringing completely dry.  Turn your iron on its lowest steam setting and don’t forget to fill your iron with water.

Step #3:  Place the damp towel on top of the wax then place the hot iron on the towel.  Do not leave the iron still for more then 30 seconds, as it could singe the carpet.

Step #4:  After about 10-15 seconds, raise the iron and move the towel to a clean spot and repeat.  This process is not quick, but it is effective.  Continue until the wax has completely been transferred to the towel.

Unfortunately, the color dye in the candle wax can sometimes leave a stain in the carpet that the above cleaning method sometimes can’t remove. In that case just give us a Superior Carpet Cleaning a call and we’ll make sure the stain is gone for good, or your money back!
