Getting Wax Out of Your Carpet
It is no fun to deal with wax melted into your carpet. Follows these steps to remove your problem and keep your carpet looking clean.
First and foremost, do not try to scrape the wax. This can damage the fibers in the carpet. Instead, find your iron, a white terry cloth, and your patience. Dampen a white terry cloth without wringing completely dry. Turn your iron on its lowest steam setting and don’t forget to fill your iron with water. Place the damp towel on top of the wax then place the hot iron on the towel. Do not leave the iron still for more then 30 seconds, as it could singe the carpet. After about 10-15 seconds, raise the iron and move the towel to a clean spot and repeat. This process is not quick, but it is effective. Continue until the wax has completely been transferred to the towel. Unfortunately, if your favorite cinnamon, or apple cobbler candle leaked rather than your vanilla or summer breeze, and a colored spot is left on your carpet, you should call your local Richmond, Lexington and Berea carpet cleaners to come whisk it away.
Post Tip- Although the Scotch Guard can’t help with the wax, it can help prevent the staining with the dyes in the candle. Ask us about all the benefits of Scotch Guard.
